Brahn
Brahn
Yes, this page is fairly empty. That is because I have very little information about the Brahn family. But I would like to get more...
My great-grandmother was born Augustine Brahn in 1862 in Tworog in Upper Silesia, now part of Poland. Her father was Wolf Brahn, married to Nanny Sorauer.
It seems that there are basically two Brahn families. A Jewish one from Upper Silesia (the area around Wroclaw in Poland, formerly called Breslau) and a (probably) non-Jewish family from Sweden.
If you are related to either of these families, I would love to hear from you! If you are connected to the German-Jewish one, than we are most likely related. If you are part of the Swedish one, than maybe not, but I would like to know more about them. In either case, please email me at the link below.
Here is further information on the family:
Max Brahn was an important pre-WWII psychologist. He was born in Laurahuutte (outside Katowice) on 15 June 1873 and was killed at Auschwitz in October 1944. He was the son of Gustav Brahn.
